For sure....as of now we have racists, wife beaters, and drug users and sellers in the Hall Of Fame...nothing wrong with a gambler being let in....

The sports all time leader in games played, hits, ABs, with 3 World Series rings, an MVP, 17 All Star appearances, 17 MLB Records, Rookie of the Year award, and part of the games all century team.....isn't in it's HALL OF FAME???:think2::think2:
Only a moron would think he's not a Hall of Famer.

Correct. It's not so much that he "broke the law" because many HOF players have done likewise.

It's that he deliberately and with aforethought Tampered With the Very Fabric of The Great Game, when he gambled on MLB games (including CincyRed games....have no doubt) when he was manager of a MLB team.

xIf I ever got a vote into the Cooperstown cabal, I could never raise my hand for Ole' Pete Buddy. I don't give a hoot for no 4,200 hits. It just doesn't matter. Pete knew the rules better than anyone else in baseball history. He thumbed his nose at the rules and at baseball. This isn't the Joe Jackson myth---the regular small-town kinda guy who just wasn't smart enough to know what was going on. Pete knew the score; He said, 'fuck you, baseball. It just doesn't matter, I get in.' So, I say the same to him. Screw you, Pete Rose. The game, is so, bigger than you.

The thing is that he never gambled against the Reds. Now if he was throwing games I could understand. How exactly is he tampering with 'the very fabric of the great game'? (whatever the hell that means)

Doesn't matter if he bet on the Reds, against the Reds, over or the under, he gambled.
As a manager you can not gamble on your team, you manage things differently, you leave a pitcher you like in a little bit longer, like I said, you tend to let the wager dictate how you run the game.

It's called 'integrity'.
Rose had none, less than zero.

Absolutely! The all time hits leader belongs in the Hall regardless what he did off the field.

Ted, he gambled on his own games from his own dugout, with the Red uniform on.
That's a violation, a big one.

He would be going in as a player, not a manager. His Stats should be the determining factor. I do not subscribe to the holy sanctity of baseball. It is just a fucking game.

Yes....... If we could put a foreign citizen in the White House, Pete should be in the HOF. It's a jab as Osama and his poor leadership.

Pete should have been in the HOF years ago.
