Cincinnati Reds -170 (Cueto)

The Cincinnati Reds showed good fight last night despite a loss to the lowly Pittsburg Pirates.

SP J. Karstens is very solid, he lacks run support and he often needs to rely heavily on the Pirates bullpen.

Pirates bullpen is outright terrible AND even those who are pitching well right now have struggled vs. Cinci this seasons.

-170 is usually not my territory: I believe that a sound MLB bettor should try to stay in the -145 <-> +125 range, and make the tough calls.
***Cincinnati is strong enough in this contest on both hitting and defense that it merits taking a risk at this price.

I expect SP Cueto to bounce back strongly and go deep. Then Cinci has available A. Rhodes and N. Masset to shut the door on Pitt.

Karstens daytime split is 6.50 ERA and his home ERA is worse than his road ERA.

Cinci is 27-20 after a loss, and the need this opportunity to keep the Cardinals at bay.

Pittsburgh is only 11-19 in day games this season.

Pitfalls:
Pitt had a big inning last night, which may have temporarily awoken their bats.
SP Cueto may be entering into a pitching slump if his last start is indicative of where he is at right now on the mound.
