I guess I can't blame boston because the Yanks are always competitive in baseball and always a big draw.....Celtics from a business standpoint are following the right team!

Ray Allen
Kevin Garnett
Paul Pierce
Jermaine O'Neil
Shaq
Rajon Rondo
Big Baby Davis
Sheed (maybe)
Nate Robinson
Kendrik Perkins

Allen/Garnett/Pierce is like the A-Rod/Jeter/Tex big boys

rondo is like Cano.....the best player on the team but not as big a name

jermaine and Shaq and sheed are like the over the top players with big names that the yanks are always signing.....

The Yankees know what has to be done to win.
Good for the 'C's, and Jake is right, Celtics will own the pivot.

This is pretty exciting stuff to me

I didn't think there was much to look forward to this season with Boston's aging veteran core and so forth,
but this is going to be great to watch.

Are you guys nuts...I don't even follow this sport but I do know Shaq will be injured most of the season and is way too slow to get up and down the court....what a bogus signing...he will be released sometime during the season...

Perhaps, but it makes things a little more interesting me being a C's fan and all

You know the sports fans ultimate dream "if we're healthy, if we're healthy. ." well now I have a "if we're healthy situation on my hands as a fan.

they dont need shaq to come in and play big minutes...thats what they signed jermaine o'neal for. i think its worth the risk for the the vets minimum. then when perkins is able to play, they will need him less

Celtics will be solid. Heat will struggle against them in a 7 game series IMO.

I hate to say it but i think it is the opposite....celts will struggle against the heat the deeper the series gets....old vs. young i give edge to old in the beginning (experience) then to the young in the later games (fresher legs)

but u are right, celts look to be solid

Give me a side by side comparison of Yankees v. Rays payroll.....

Yankees 27 Championships
Rays 0 Championships.

Now if the Rays spent some money, the aforementioned stat might change.

I repeat, the Yankees know what to do to win.

When they have been at the top for 15 straight years they will be matching the Yankees. This generation is now at three years

People sure do have some short term memories

I understand where viking611 is coming from. My hometeam, the Florida Marlins, also suffer. Well, it certainly doesn't help they have a cheap ass owner named Jeffrey Loria. I can say I'm thrilled they have gotten 2 championships in their relatively brief existence in my lifetime. One of them against the Evil Empire. :grandmais

MLB needs a salary cap as opposed to the bogus "luxury tax" currently in place. MLB is the only USA professional sports league not to have that. Congress needs to threaten to "yank" (pun intended) that antitrust exemption away from MLB to "get with the times."

At least with a salary cap, we could see how really shrewd the Yankees would be in their player moves.
