What's up with everyone saying that the Red Sox are done now that Youklis is out for the season?? That the spankees can cripple our playoff hopes this weekend....keep fueling the fire. Yes Youklis went down, but we just got Ellsbury back Pedroia's coming back soon. Combine Cameron and Youklis numbers and compare that to Ellsbury and Pedroi's numbers, the result? The Red Sox are no where near done! The main thing affected by the loss of Youklis is team chemistry, but I have a feeling Youk will still be there to pump this team up. The next 4 days will be big, but not crippling no matter what the results may be.

Team chemistry? No the main thing is that he is their best offensive player along with Beltre this year.

.307/.411 with like 20 HRs 60 RBI's.

Youk is an on base machine that gets on virtually twice a game, every game.
That's going to be hard to replace.

Just about everyone except Youk has been injury plagued this year, now that everyones getting healthy we'll see what kind of numbers they put up. I'm not saying it doesn't hurt losing him, but it's in no way the end of the road.

Sox need to sweep this weekend, three out of four is *imperative* and hope this mini Ray slide turns into a big mudslide.
Sox are capable of getting to October, but it has to start this weekend, or lights out.

Rays pitching staff makes "mudslide" almost impossible

I'm most interested to see which team will be left at the altar at season's end among CHW, MIN, TB and NYY

oh..and the RedSox blow

realistically the Bosox need to finish 2nd in the AL East to get a playoff spot, wildcard should be from that division. Chances have to less than 50% for them to make the playoffs, IMO. 35% chance is my guess ( might be high?). Losing Youk can't help.
