DeSean Jackson - WR - Eagles Eagles WR DeSean Jackson has shined in one-on-one drills.
"He missed multiple practices with a back strain, but whenever he's on the field, Jackson shows he's the best player on the field," says Sheil Kapadia of Philly.com. Jackson owners should be happy to hear that he's practicing well, especially after his early-camp scare due to a minor back injury. August 8

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>D-Jax has just 10 catches for 127 yards in his last three games. "I just have to try and do something within ten yards," he said. The problem is that the 5'10/175-pound wideout is not suited to play over the middle. The Eagles must find a way to get their playmaker open despite extra defensive attention. This week's game against the Lions' laughable secondary is a good place to start.

Jackson isn't going to play. He's feeling soreness in his shoulder, admitted to memory loss, suffered a concussion last season and the Eagles have a bye in Week 8. Jackson will simply hope to be ready for Week 9. Jeremy Maclin is headed for a ton of targets as the No. 1 receiver and Brent Celek gets a boost as well. Possession receiver Jason Avant will start opposite Maclin.

We already know Jackson won't play in Week 7 at Tennessee, but Domowitch believes he could be out "a lot longer than the Week 9 game against Indianapolis." Though the Eagles' bye is between the two games, it apparently may not be enough to get Jackson back on the field. Keep in mind that this is speculation -- not a report -- but the source is a respected, longtime Eagles beat writer. Jackson owners should prepare for multiple missed games.

No surprise here. The Eagles have a bye in Week 8, and it would be a surprise if Jackson does much in practice before the week leading up to Week 9, if even then. It's tough to predict how long he might be sidelined.

"Day-by-day I'm getting a lot better," Jackson said. He's begun lifting weights, but he hasn't tried to run yet. Jackson still has nearly two weeks to get ready for his next game, but he's not ready to guarantee that he'll play against the Colts in Week 9. He won't be locked in as a fantasy starter until he passes the final hurdle.

We're not totally convinced. He still needs to gain clearance from an independent neurologist before being able to practice. Jackson admitted that he lost consciousness after the hit for what he believed to be "a couple of minutes" and that he didn't regain his bearings until about an hour later. We probably won't know until next week if he'll be ready.

It was Michael Vick that "reported" Jackson returned to practice, so we're not sure if he returned in limited or full fashion. He'll have to get through the week without any setbacks, which isn't a given. Check back for updates on his status.

"We’ll see how he does in practice this week," said Reid. "We’ll see how he does." Jackson is still sore from the whiplash of his collision with Falcons CB Dunta Robinson prior to Philadelphia's Week 8 bye. He's been practicing this week and will do so again Wednesday. We tentatively expect Jackson to suit up against Indianapolis, but check back for updates.

The Eagles are game-planning as if Jackson will be in the starting lineup. Now that he's passed all of his tests and put in a full practice, only a return of concussion symptoms will keep him out. It's still unclear as to whether Jackson or Jorrick Calvin will return punts. It's now safe to pencil in Jackson as a WR2 this week, though it's a good idea to check back Friday afternoon for the Eagles' official injury report.

Reid added that he anticipates Jackson returning punts, despite comments to the contrary from from Eagles special teams coach Bobby April. Jackson has been dominant with Michael Vick under center this season and makes for a borderline WR1 play in fantasy leagues. Owners would still be smart to check back Sunday to make sure he's active. Colts-Eagles has a 4:15ET start.

DeSean Jackson - WR - Eagles WR DeSean Jackson (concussion) is expected to start and return punts Week 9 against the Colts.
Coach Andy Reid said Jackson is "feeling well", and is "ready to roll". Given that the Colts will be without their top cornerback in Jerraud Powers on top of the myriad injuries to Indy's secondary, Jackson has legit WR1 upside if he can avail himself of the cobwebs sustained from his Week 7 concussion.
