It's official now as I have $2k to open up an offshore account (been saying I would get an offshore forever) for the football season. I'm looking to open 2 accounts ($1k each).

So far I have narrowed it down to a few books people have recommended for football:

1) 5dimes
2) Matchbook (but I'm not sure how this works)
3) SIA
4) betonline

I'm trying to read on Matchbooks site how their betting works but I'm having trouble understanding it. Like what does the dollar amount next to the lines mean? How do I know how to take advantage of their lines and all that stuff? If anyone can explain in lamens terms it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone have any other suggestions for books or which books they would choose out of these 4?

Thanks guys.

The dollar amount nex tto the line means how much money is unmatched. So if you see Boston +200 and $5400, it means that's how much is available for you to win at those odds.

So I can bet w/e amount I want that could get me to win $5400? What if it is said -105 and $193? Same thing applies?

Yeah.

You could also make your own offers but I don't know about that. I always just accept offers.

So I'm just picking w/e line I want? Should I not bother looking at the money next to it?

Don't look at the money next to it unless you're making a huge bet and there isn't enough available.

Right now MB has RedSox +193 and $996 available. The max I can bet would be $516.06 to win all $996.

You should look at the money.

Well, just like anything, if it seems sweet, but not a lot of people are jumping on it, it could be fool's gold.

Like that pretty girl with the baggage.

How do I know a lot of people are jumping on it? If it's a low amount of money available? Also, what are those odds next to the original bet? Like say it has -114 then next to it is -116 with more money next to it? Is that just to get more money? Does this basically limit the amount of money you can bet?

It's not that it's a lot of questions but I don't know a lot of the stuff either. I just use it on a basic level. I know there are advanced users that can really exploit Matchbook.

The worst thing I've noticed is the live lines that people offer some times like if the Yankees are winning you'll have Yankees -9999.

They are bad lines that people throw out there.

Right now for example Yankees are leading 4-2 and someone is offering Yankees -800. That is just ridiculous.

I see the same kind of offers at BetFair all the time. Those people offering stuff like
-9999 on 4-2 games in the 5th should be banned.

Yeah people offer those lines.

Like some asshole right now is offering Yankees -2400 on live betting. Why would anyone take that?
