JetBlue Attendant Quits Via Escape Slide

Someone needs to review his customer relations manual! After entering into a dispute with a passenger, JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater took to the PA system to hurl expletives at all the passengers onboard, then activated the emergency evacuation slide, grabbed two beers, and slid down it, fleeing into New York City's John F. Kennedy airport.

A passenger had disregarded Slater's instructions to stay seated, opting instead to stand up and remove his luggage from the overhead compartment. The luggage hit Slater in the head, and when Slater asked the passenger for an apology, he got brushed off.

Commence hissy fit: "To the passenger who called me a m---f--er, f--- you," Slater said over the PA system, before activating the emergency inflatable slide. Police have charged him with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. Oddly enough,

Slater had previously served on JetBlue's in-flight values committee.

Well, he probably gave up a $23K/year job....so it wasn't that big of a deal!

He could be like George Costanza, trying to get fired in really unusual ways!!

with the 28 years of experience he should be up there, maybe the company is cheap, but that much experience at an average airline would have him around 70-80k a yr. flight attendant is not a bad job, the pay is decent and if you like to fly, you can always fly for free and bring people (atleast the way it use to be for me neighbor).

I fly a lot and I can see how they can "crack" when people are doing the same stupid things every day of every flight.
