Went to sit down for a few hours the other day.

after a few hrs chipped my 200 buyin to 480 or so.

1 before the button I have A,10o so I raise it to 14. Button calls and bb calls. a couple of early limpers fold Pot= 49

Flop comes Ks, Jc, 8s

bb -checks
Me- bets 22
Button calls
bb- folds
pot 93
turn - Qc

Me- 45
button raises to 110 he did this all the 2 hrs I sat with him when he had a made hand he wanted to win the pot right there with those draws out there. I started to think he has 2 pair or the same hand as I did. The only card that I didn't want to see was to pair the board.

Me I just call 55 more
pot=307

turn 4c
Me- instant all in. I knew that card did not help him at all. He already had his hand. I was either going to get his stack with the nut straight or he was going to fold a hand he could split the pot with. I had him covered by about 50$. I swear this was the longest I have ever had to wait to see what a guy was going to do. He's talking about how lucky I just got and how he "HAD" the nuts before that damn club came out. LOL At this point I am wanting him to fold. He has A,10. He takes so long that after about 5 mins the table calls time on him. The guy waits till the 10 sec countdown and folds it face up. yep A,10

He says you said you would show it so keep your word and show your suckout. I say hell yeah that was a great card on the river and flip up my A,10. Table is looking and some say what the hell why would you go all in when that club came out. I said well hell I'm just here to gamble. lol.

So remember if you get figure out the other players you can win a lot of pots with scare cards that don't improve your hand. I knew this guy didn't have a flush draw. He was trying to end the hand when he raised on the turn. I knew it and used it for my advantage and my bankroll.

Another good day at the tables. I have been real busy and not able to play as much as I need to.

dicuss it people this is what the poker forum is for. Add some hands that you have played and tell us all what was the thought process behind your play.

You cant win in poker playing your cards. Its hands like that 1 that makes you a winner. You read the guy and used his betting patterns, tells, etc and won the hand and thats what poker is really all about...Lord knows ive proven trying to get the best hand to hold up wont show a profit....lol

Ijust posted a hand in another thread almost exactly like this 1. I put the guy firmly on AK (big mistake) and played for all my chips with QQ.....and lost when he showed AA. I played it badly, his total range was AA,KK and AK and maybe like 1% of the time QQ/JJ....so even though i had a huge hand against his range of hands i was only beating maybe 1/3rd of them.

Also i have a link here you will be interested in.....this is a free video at Cardrunners about hand ranges in NL. This might be the single best video i have ever watched....In fact ive watched it 3 times and i still havent gotten half of it down yet. http://www.cardrunnersvideochallenge.com/#/welcome Its the last video shown on the page and will only be up through the 20th for free...right at an hour long but well worth it.

While typing this i just played another hand where ranges came into play. i think i made a tight fold here...

This guy just called a PF min raiser.....i have 99 at this point. Does he really just flat call with a hand that is ahead of me right now unless he hit a set....which would seem to be a huge overbet from a set. I think i folded the best hand..

must be playing against complete retards if they are putting you on running flushes.

hard to put you on ace10 the way the hand played but i dont think im ever folding for 200 bucks or whatever on the river when only a runner runner flush has you beat. suprised he even calls on the flop if hes so tight and never making plays.

Playing live you run into many players that get confused easily. Also people try to chase for runner runner all the time. He didn't know if I knoew how to play or not. I just knew he did't have a draw with that bet. And also now reading that hand again I think I misplaced the club for a spade. Either way he folded a split pot and I got the money

if the rivers a spade THEN THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING COMPLETELY. kinda a big oversight on your part.

LOL You seem to have everything figured out.

Sorry but its not like I can pull up the hand history like online.

Bottom line is I put this guy on %80 having A-10. So making that push got him off his hand.

ALso I would have never never ever would have folded either. So that I do agree with you. I only play live so sometimes hands are hard to recall.

Here's another one.
I have 8d,5d on the buttom. guy in early position makes it 5. gets 3 callers before me. I call. SB calls and BB calls. $35 pot
flop comes 8,6,K 1 diamond. Blinds check Early guy leads out $10 1 caller before me I call sb folds. BB calls pot= $75
Turn 6d BB checks. guy fires out 25 next guy folds. I raise to 75 bb folds guy calls,
river 8
guy leads out on me for $50. This made no sense to me. but whatever. I am trying to think how much he'll call I figure he took a stand with his hand. He only hase 100 or so left. Hell why not just push it all in. I go all in and he snap calls me real fast. WOW could he have 6,6. I turn over my boat. He flings his cards in turning them up and says I sucked out on him and he had A,6.

LOL yes I play againstsome terrible terrible players I don't care that is the name of the game. I have no ego I just want to win thier money if they are bad players that is not my problem.

Agreed. Generally, live play is far looser than on line because they aren't playing five games at the same time and patience/discipline is minimized. Many live players in a 1/2 NL game are there for the action and losing $200 is not a big deal. I see people staying in hands far too long and chasing.

Possibly this explains why he was so convinced you sucked him out on the river, (regardless of how you had been playing prior). ...on second thought, he may have not even been paying attention to how you had been playing prior.

exactly Vegas. I LMAO all the time when reading forums like 2+2 and how they say they have a table image and how they have reads on all 8 people sitting there. 1-2 table are people looking to enjoy themselves. Now I do see the same people over and over. We just give each other a nod to say hi and not make it obvious that we go there all the time. How dumb would that be.

remember ego has no place in poker. I don't care if they think I suck and get "lucky" on them. I see bad playand say well nothing you could do about that. or yeah I would have went broke on that hand. I want them to rebuy in why wouldn't I
