Detroit -- The Detroit Pistons are in serious discussions with seven-time All-Star Tracy McGrady, DetNews.com reported Sunday.
According to The News, it's unknown if McGrady -- who because of injuries has played in only 75 games since the 2007-08 season -- will work out for the Pistons before an official offer is extended.
If signed, The News said it would be for the veterans' minimum, bringing him around $1.2 million, which would be considered a steal if he gets anywhere close to his potential playing level.
During his 13-year career, McGrady has averaged over 34 minutes and 21 points per game.
The 31-year-old guard-forward has been burdened with injuries the last few years. He recorded a career-low last season by playing in only 30 games while recovering from micro-fracture knee surgery.
The Pistons finished the 2009-10 season last in the Central Division with a 27-55 record.
