Ryder Cup play is a totally different thing than playing stroke play on your own in a tournament. No matter how Tiger has been playing, he is still the most feared player in the game and his presence alone on the team will help. Outside of the final day in singles play, this is a team format and I think Pavin definitely made the right decision. And I would bet that all the other players on the team will welcome him with open arms...

I don't think Tiger wants to be on the Ryder Cup and his record isn't that stellar. I'm not so sure he is the most feared player on the planet now and i think the younger players are either too naive or just too good to care. Corey would have received a backlash of critisism from the networks and media and prabably didn't want the distraction. Tiger, himself said he wouldn't choose himself the way he is playing. Did anyone notice him on The Golf Channel yesterday? On his interview he looks like his arms have grown three inches in the last month.Lots of creatine or something to have such definition and growth in such a short time.

#1 player ranking is based on a lot of different things and goes way back. He may not even qualify for the Fed Ex (125 players). What if he finishes last in the PGA this weekend and shoots and another +18?
I just think at this point it should be a wait and see.
