Not really, but if you are doing what you love, financial gain doesn't seem quite as important.

Depends on what you love,I suppose.Like the Judge said though"if you are doing what you love, financial gain doesn't seem quite as important".I think that is the true meaning.

Yep!

Read the book entitled "Do What You Love And The Money Will Follow" by Marsha Sinetar in 1989 and it changed my approach to life forever. The principle is that if you do what you love, you are good at it and keep getting better and you start making money at what you love to do and it doesn't feel at all like a job or career. You have more energy because you love it. The hours fly by and you are not tired.

There were examples in the book of doctors, lawyers, engineers etc. finding that they had achieved everything professionally that they could. Purchased everything they wanted but were not happy. The baby boomer generation is the first to feel this way. These professionals quit there careers and went into things like pottery, gardening, etc. The things they loved to do and ended up with successful businesses in those areas they loved.

I've lived my love for many, many years and can tell you it is true if you believe in yourself and want to make it successful and be happy at the same time.

A similar idea concerns success {getting good grades} in school or college.
I tend to do well in subjects i love, but not so well in those i hate. Though
i'm not sure, in the latter case, if that's mainly due to finding them boring
and not studying hard, or because i'm lazy and found them difficult.
Maybe a combination of the two.

Do you agree Judge that this works the other way around? I mean honestly the only one of the 4 possible combinations that REALLY BLOWS is doing what you hate and not making shit doing it!

When you have money you don't care. When you don't have any money, you wish you had it.

Enough of this Bullshit about money doesn't matter bullcrap, ofcourse it does and anyone who says it doesn't has plenty already. And those who don't have any and still doesn't matter are just plain nuts. Stay away from these freaks.

Maybe a combination of the two.

I share an exact same experience. When I was in law school (1st year), I found subjects like Contracts, Civil Procedure, Property to be very "boring" and vapid. I would take copious notes, study my balls off, and pass these classes after hassling through them. I guess I really didn't "like" these particular subjects.

However, my Torts class was a different subject. 2nd semester, I rarely took notes and I absolutely LOVED the cases I was studying. Result? I managed to get an AmJur Award for the class. Go figure!

So I tend to agree if you "love" something, you'll do well at it. If it happens to be a job you love, that's a bonus. Making money at something you love to do is rare, but awesome if you can get the chance.
