You think most pro gamblers have been bust at one time or another?

I would probably say yes, to most. Many have the gamble/risk taking in them and it is going to happen at one time or another

No doubt, nobody starts out winning and keeps winning.

I think it was 30 30 that said Phil Ivey went bust 4 time. And by the looks of the way he was playing he is good for another 4.

IMO they wouldn't be pros if they didn't go busto at least once in the past. You've got to make mistakes and learn from them or else you'll never improve at anything in life!

What exactly do you guys mean by 'busted'? Do you mean at whatever point in time lifetime net loser? Or just some short losing streak? Or what?

lost their bankroll basically(whether it be a million dollars or 50k) and had to borrow to start up again

But still what does that mean? Let's say I win 1 million dollars consistently over 5 years and I am withdrawing as I go along and have 200k bankroll at any one time. Bad losing streak and I lose the 200K. Did I go bust, even though I'm still "up" 800k?

withdrawing?...........if the money is for living expenses(includes everything vacations taxes etc.) yes you went bust..........if you pull it out and put it in the bank or whatever and have access to it no......most pros play on credit.....going bust early on you beg and borrow to get your guy paid..........

It's takes a lot of losing and a willingness to approach gambling differently than you have in the past to win, or so I hear. : )

i think it was doyle brunson who said that one must lose the equivalent of a brand new cadillac before one can even hope to be successful in the long run

glad i got that part out of the way....it should all be downhill from here
