After going (0-4)(-4.15) yesterday, losing with the St. Louis -1.5 (2-3), New York Mets (0-4), Chicago White Sox -1.5 (2-3) and the Toronto/L.A. Angels Under 8 (2-7), decided to just kick back today and enjoy watching my Giants beat San Diego and then watch the Sunday Night game. I haven't even looked at today's card. Also, a heads up that Monday and Tuesday are my off days, but I will post any plays if warranted. Best of luck to everyone today! :toast:

Thoughts About the San Diego/San Francisco Game

Thanks guys!

Thought I would share my thoughts about today's Padres/Giants game.

First all of let's start with Timmy. The reason he has been struggling is because he has been working on his delivery and doesn't have complete command of his pitches right now. His last outing where he gave up 4 runs was the most runs he has ever given up in the 1st inning in his career. He didn't last long so he should be fresher and stronger today, however, that being said, I have noticed that his fastball is only reaching about 92 mph while earlier in the year and last year it was around 95+.

Second, the Giants hitting drops off significantly when facing a left hander as Torres and Sandoval have to switch and hit right handed and have a far lower batting average from that side of the plate. Plus Aubrey Huff is also at a disadvantage when facing lefties. The upside is the Giants just acquired Jose Guillen who is a right handed hitter and will play a great deal in right field and his teammates are stoked to have him, particularly Barry Zito who played with him in Oakland. He has been completely accepted by the team and the fans, no matter his past history of being a disruption and he is currently saying all the right things and his excited to go from a last place team to one in a pennant race.

So it would seem that the Padres might have an advantage right? Not so sure. If I was wagering today, I wouldn't touch this game. I'm just going to watch and enjoy it as a lifetime Giants fan! Best of luck to all you guys whatever you decide! :toast:

BTW. SportsOptions just reported steam on the Padres about 10 minutes ago.

That was an enjoyable game.

Don't be sad OMT, there's always the Wild Card.

One of the marks of a winner; slow down when things are rough; always another day; no need to chase..
