Tiger Woods is currently 9 shots out of the lead in the PGA Championship and has no shot, but CBS continues to show his play. I know the reason is to try and keep the viewing audience, but when are these networks going to grow a pair and stop covering him when he is not in contention. This tournament is up for grabs. Forget about Tiger!

I want to see Tiger (regardless of his score). And I think the general public agrees with me - obviously.

Been tired of him and his coverage for about 10 years now.. Also tired of the networks and their employees sucking up to him . They are so afraid of not having access to him so he can evade the questions they ask .. he can retire to a life of banging pancake whores for all i care ..

It's nauseating.
Real golf fans wants the coverage focusing on the up and coming superstars that are in contetion, like Rory and the rest.
Real golf fans don't want to see an irrelevant 27th place, ten off the pace.

ESPN is just as bad

I am much more than a real golf fan, and I want to watch him hit every shot. The PGA Tour reminds me of the cloning of offshore books. To each his own.

ive been watching golf for 40+ years i consider myself a real golf fan and i agree with you, people that dont like tiger would agree with WN 1 and bill and folks that do would probably agree with us........this thread is like a political thread each side is positive the other side is wrong and therefore pointless

They do it for the same reason TV in general puts out garbage. People have poor taste and the networks give them "what they want."

If Tiger was 2 shots out, 3 holes left, I want to see every single Tiger shot.

But when you have 4 to 6 up and comers, all in contention, I don't want focus on a irrelevant Tiger who is ten back, and the absolute best he can finish is 14th.

Give the contending kids the face time, it's an exciting finish, it IS the story, no Tiger, and remember, Tiger is going to retire eventually, guys like Rory will be the face of the game soon.
How is that good for the event or the broadcast?

I was actually a huge Tiger fan with regards to his golf and still respect his ability although he has a long way to go to ever get back to where he was, if he can, IMHO. I believe his brain is fried. I did lose respect for him regarding how he has handled his personal life however. I just feel it is inappropriate to focus air time on him when he is not in contention. I realize the reason, but would rather the networks focus on the leaders. JMO.

Lets be honest, next to Brett Favre, Kaka, Adrian Clayborn, and Lebron................TIGER is the most followed athlete in the world.

Not next to, Tiger is the most followed athlete in the world.
From 1995 or so to 2008, because of what he was doing in the sport, dominating and crushing all others, but, now, sadly he is the most followed athlete for all the wrong reasons, i.e the media circus act and all.

they show every shot because tiger is the only golfer anyone cares about.

nobody cares about the winner of this tourney, i sure as hell don't.

only reason i got into golf to begin with was watching tiger.

there are no real golf fans who dont want to see tiger. if there were, they wouldnt show tiger every shot.

I want to see Tiger, not every shot if it's not necessary, I don't need to know what cereal he had for breakfast, etc. etc.

The players in the PGA membership should all get down on their knees and say thank you to Tiger Woods for all the purses and the 4 extra tours that have started since he came on the scene...and most of you have become players and watchers since Tiger appeared...and all books that have put up numbers and matchups since 2000...

Tiger saved the PGA tour and television coverage of golf...

Sorry, but there's not anyone more interesting to watch on the tour than Tiger. Including the German bore who won it yesterday. Even a struggling Tiger occasionaly pulls off the brilliant shot. And I want to see it. Just wait until all of these Asian robots start playing the tour. You all will start begging to see Tiger.
