I think I would have been Pissed.....If I made it that far, then it's my game to Lose.

In case you missed it....Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire, Pulled Pitcher Kevin Slowey after 7 innings of play, 4-0 Lead and a No Hitter in the works.

To be fair, this was his answer as to WHY

The reason was simple: Elbow tendinitis caused Slowey to miss his last start. Combine that with 106 pitches to get through seven innings and there was little chance of him throwing two more innings -- even if he continued to hold the Athletics without a hit."We're not going to come close to risking this guy," Gardenhire said. "It's the way it is. It's sad. I'd be booing too because I want to see a no-hitter, but I also know I'm responsible for this guy's arm."

Gardy was correct, he has a franchise to protect.
Slowey was spot on honest in his interview as well.
He said he was disappointed, but he also said he respects Gardy and his staff for looking out on his behalf.............
God that Twin team is awful easy to root for, Mauer, Mouneau, Gardy, Nathan, all the rest, all very classy, and not only that, they play the game correct.

He missed his last start due to elbow issues. He rarely pitches deeply into games. If the no-hitter was more important than making the playoffs, then taking him out was a mistake.

Twins are trying to win the division and get into the playoffs. Bottom line is the team won the game. For Slowey as a personal achievement, it would have been great to get thee no-no, but this is supposedly a team game.

I think it was the right move. Under normal circumstances I would say leave him in , but
like a number of posters have pointed out, he had elbow issues. He was probably on a set pitch count before the game since he missed his last start. Kevin Slowey himself says he was ok with it.
