An awful situation just keeps getting worse. He suffered the injury when he punched his girlfriend's father last week. K-Rod is not with the team in Houston, but it's not clear when the surgery will take place. Either way, he's expected to be done for the year. Rodriguez is on tap to make $11.5 million next season and has a $17.5 million vesting option for 2012. It will be interesting to see if the Mets have any recourse here. Mets manager Jerry Manuel will likely play the matchups in his absence, using Bobby Parnell, Pedro Feliciano and Hisanori Takahashi, among others. This situation is a mess in fantasy baseball terms.
