Why would Big Ben play in a pre-season game?

He is suspended for the first 6 games......shouldn't the first team offense get the play time?

Well, he needs the reps for sure.

Last night, Jets WR Santonio Holmes was playing extensively. He's been suspended by the league for the first 4 games of the upcoming regular season - substance abuse. Coach wanted him to get all the work during the NFLX season he could under "game conditions."

So I think the same logic applies to Ben.
