I hitchhiked a few times when I was younger. But I probably wouldn't pick up a hitchhiker in today's times. Just look at the Craigslist killer. He looked like a normal cleancut college kid. But he wouldn't hesitate to get out a gun and blow your face off. You never know.

Not a CHANCE in the world.

I did it 2x when I lived in Belgium and the trains were on strike.

Both times I was ok (got gas $$$ which helped, considering I was a poor college student and at that time gas was $5.00 a gallon), but now, NFW - no fucking way.

I used to hitch hike 100 miles to Omaha and back when I was in college a long time ago. I don't think I would ever do that in this day and age.

I hitched from South Dakota to Ca. 1976

These two friends picked me up in S.D. and drove all the way to Oregon.

They fought all the way one had the VW camper van and the other was bank rolling the trip.

The rich kid was going to see a girl and when we got there she was engaged was to funny.

Then in Oregon this lady picked me up she was leaving her husband.

We got to Ca. she went into liquor store as opens at 7am and I drove the rest of the way.

Got to S.F. and she was blitzed and I left her parked on the street crying as I got on a Grey Hound.

Felt bad but what was I to do.
