Costco to me is really the place to go, you can return the machine NO QUESTIONS ASKED within 90 days.

Best buy had a 15% re-stocking fee.

Office depot only offered store credit on a return.

The computer is nice so far, but one thing I hate is that it is loaded with BLOATWARE, I wish that they gave disks for a CLEAN install of windows and nothing else.

Oh well.

Im thrilled that I can decide over the next 90 days if I want to keep it.

Im trying to find some information on which BLOATWARE i can un-install without affecting the PC

it's called pc de-crapifier. I used it on two new laptops within the past 6 months. It works fine, but you have to be careful and only select what is crap. A savvy user could also just review programs and uninstall. The decrapifier identifies those for you, but of course I wouldn't blindly trust any program.. just take note of things before you remove them. and of course, create a restore pt. before using. I noticies my two new laptops both have "restore factory specs" options if you really F things up. Essentially a partition of the memory is dedicated to factory specs forevermore ...just in case u need the pc rebooted someday

Ya, I'm having a lot of enjoyment from the power of these new machines. I recommend d/ling CCleaner also as a tool to have avail. for regular maintenance and then check out the few other programs that the company CCleaner offers, like "defraggler", "recuva", and specs"... all very nice tools to have on hand and that company seems very efficient in their programs.

I recommend getting an external hard drive and some backup software to backup your files.

I have Acronis software and clone my hard disk. If my laptop hard disk were to crap out I would be back up in less than 30 minutes.

I bought one last week at Bestbuy. IMO, just buy the the $350 job. I dropped mine cracked the screen, still should get $100 for the old one.

They are disposable. use it for two years and the battery dies ( $100) and it needs a new keyboard ( $125), and you can get like $100 for it at www.cashforlaptops.com

buy a new one for $350 then, unless you can get parts cheap and install them yourself. Computer shops charge $100 for 5 minutes labor ( keyboard)

that's what I'm saying Dante ! Buy it for $350 and use it until it Fvcks up ( 2 years), by then it needs a new battery ( $100), get $100 or so for the old lapper, not much to upgrade to a new disposable computer. I don't do this with other stuff routinely. I drive a 2000 Ford Truck, and might drive that for 8 more years, for example.

That place seems to have gone downhill a bit , IMO ! They NEVER answer their phone, and take longer now. I'm waiting on a payment, now.

Quotes seem lower, too !
