does seem like it would have to be solely as a collector item...not going to be able to sell it for show

The wealthy art collector just wants the unobtainable painting because he loves art and has way too much money, it is not for investment.

My question is how you can possibly swipe something this valuable....there should be great security at wherever it was stolen from.

The black market exists for many collectibles. Some things are so rare and sought after that they can never be sold ( if stolen) at auction...doesn't matter to a guy that wants it over his fireplace mantle and has a billion dollars.

I almost respect a collector that wants it so bad that he will buy it this way, I am 100% certain that the item will be treated and guarded as a great treasure, more so than the previous owner who allowed it to be stolen with bad security.
