Ya i actually like Girardi think he is good for the team. I think Bill is letting his love for Joe Torre block his judement...Come on Bill tell us how u really feel. LOL

His mother is dealing with an illness. It's more important to be with family now than to go through the motions till the end of the season.

He took time off to be with his dying mother once this year. One does wonder if the Cubs were doing better if he leaves.

Girardi is good with the kids, (so is Showalter) he's a good fit there.
Behind the scenes, the veteran Yankees quietly did not like him, especially Moose.
Torre was perfect for those NYY championship teams.

IMO Torre > Girardi

I would be ok with either Sandberg or Brenly.
With the team going young Sandberg is obviously already familiar with many of these players.
Brenly called out Ramirez today and he wouldn't put up all of the bullshit that's been going on the last couple of years.

D Lee saved a lot of errors. This will be a bigger problem for the Cubs.

Taking Mike (headcase) Mussina's word that Girardi is not liked is like taking someone's word that Vincent D'onofrio is a great character to work with.

Had a beer with Lou many years ago in a bar he owned in Kansas City. Very cool guy.

Seems like a cool, humble guy, who truly loves baseball.

That said, he certainly doesn't belong in the HOF.
