Yes, right after the Lions win a SB, and I pay cash money to see the Jonas Brothers.

Let's say the next 50 years and I'd say the odds would favor it happening. Just the fact that they have and should continue to have the ability to have a top 5 or so payroll. Even if they mismanage it a lot, odds are they'kll spend it wisely at some point. Nonetheless, they are somewhat bogged down over the next 3-4 years with bad contracts (Soriano and Zambrano). Starlin Castro, the 20-year old SS battling for the NL batting crown, is a real bright spot though and would seem to be good for a long time, and cheap for several years.

At even money over the next 50 years, I'd bet on yes (especially if I can bet on credit and it's graded the earlier of a WS win or 50 years heh).

D2 is crowned as the smartest man in this thread. Congrats.

He has the correct answer. If a book were to put this bet up the "Yes" option would be favored. 50 years is a long time and Cubs have had a shot at the WS just in the past 10 years if not for one of the most infamous incidents in baseball playoffs history.

With a top payroll every year, an organization that still is determined to win (unlike a lot of other teams that are at the bottom, them i would say are maybe more likely to have NO be favored), and the fact that they are finally trying to rebuild would make Yes a pretty strong bet if made at even money.

Ok.44 years and i can bump this

108 years and counting

The Chicago Cubs are loaded with pitching, power and playoff experience. A franchise that hasn't won the World Series in 108 years opens the season Monday night as a strong contender to reign in October.

Chicago's most anticipated season in generations begins just down the street from Disneyland, but these Cubs are no Cinderellas.

''I think the expectations are wonderful,'' Cubs manager Joe Maddon said Sunday. ''Pressure is a wonderful word. And if you channel it properly, it's going to make you better.''
