JERSEY SHORE
Jersey Shore‘s The Situation Could Earn $5 Million This Year
August 23, 2010
The Situation has no problems when it comes to the compensation.
One of the breakout stars of MTV’s smash hit Jersey Shore, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is busily, and effectively, turning his drama into dollar signs. Between his MTV salary, endorsement deals, his own branded products and other media opportunities, Sorrentino, 29, could earn as much as $5 million by the end of this year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The abs-flaunting Sorrentino is raking in close to $60,000 per episode in salary, and between $15,000 and $50,000 per event for appearances. He also has endorsement deals with Vitaminwater, Reebok and an unnamed vodka brand; will front a clothing line with Dilligaf and a line of chewable supplements with GNC; has released his own fitness video; and has partnered with Gotham Books to write his autobiography.
Oh, and he also has a “GTL” app and a rap song on iTunes, and has been in talks regarding several big-screen projects.
It’s all part of a carefully orchestrated plan. “We are really excited about all the opportunities coming Mike’s way,” says his manager, Mike Petolino of Gotham Entertainment. “He has been able to secure many endorsement deals, business opportunities and additional television offers based on the success of the show. Our goal has always been to try to build a brand if the situation presented itself.” –Tim Nudd

He deserves it. The guy is a goofball who really is full of himself, but he draws attention, and that means money. Just like Paris Hilton. If nobody cared then they wouldn't get the money. He is a genuine idiot, but at least he is genuine, I think.

Good for him. He was mostly likely mocked prior to the show for the situation schtick and now it continues in the media, but he seems to have always laughed it off and been himself. He seems to have intelligently parlayed this into a nice payday, which is pretty rare considering all the reality shows and very little success coming out of them.

Hopefully he's smart with the money and makes sound investments, because this train will end sometime and its gotta be easy to get caught up in the delusion that this will continue well into his 30s, because that's very unlikely.

I don't mind the guy. Thers is some substance with him.

Tend to agree, plus he's diversified, he's a personal trainer, in the music industry, and knows how this market works.
I'm jealous, the guy gets laid on demand as well.

I gotta admit, the guy is kinda funny. Some stuff I have seen come out of his mouth has made me laugh. I agree with the book remark, rediculous. Its almost sick how little 5 million dollars is becoming in the world today.

mtv is retarded, you could turn that cast over every season and people would continue to watch for years. all they have to do is keep type casting

Not surprising. Lindsey Lohan still gets piad 50k + for appearances also doesnt she?

The public loves tv/movie stars...that isn't changing anytime soon. Props to Mike for cashing in on this

5 years from now Mike will have a gym or series of successful gyms, Snooki on the other hand will be either swinging on stripper pole in Staten Island as a day time stirpper, because she's not hot enough to dance night time, and J-Wowww will be squeezing out her third baby to a construction type worker husband.
