now Blanton has an ERA over 6 against SD but in a very limited sample. He has done well as of late with 3.32 ERA in his last 3 outings...the spacious confines of PETCO should help him too. I expect that victory last night to give Philly a huge boost...I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out smoking today. Garland is going to have some added stress mentally...he needs to go deep into the game and give his bullpen rest as they were used a lot yesterday...which could easily work against him. Also as we all know these days Garland relies heavily on location location location....well whos behind the plate today? Laz Diaz, the most erratic umpire in MLB..Garlands walk ratio is already the highest in his career and probably will add to it today.
Was leaning Twins at first, but looking more at it kinda like the Mariners now. Blackburn is having one of the worst years i've seen from a starting pitcher in a long time. 6.49 ERA, .338 opponents batting average, 156 hits in 111 innings, only 40 k's in 111 innings, this guy is beyond terrible. ERA on the road is over 9
