Besides no resort fee's is they play good music.

I am not a fan of blaring music while I gamble but if they are going to blast it at least it was rock-n-roll as opposed to the pool was thump bump hip hop.

But that is just me.

I also thought about how we were patronizing Harrahs as they lobby against online gambling.

They give money to the right wingers that campaign against online reform.

Music is the MAIN reason I almost always stay at the Hard Rock, very important to me on a vegas vacation.

PH was also great.

I agree that the right music helps. since even guys that are 60 are used to Rock music that is the way to go ! No point in Lawrence Welk/ frank sinatra stuff....the listeners are mostly dead. Hip hop and rap aren't right ( yet). 60's -80's rock should be the norm. They can throw in some Elvis but not too much. I think what people 30-50 like is the wisest choice.

Classic Rock was the music we had playing the night of the Bash and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Never thought about what Doug stated above.

Oh shit we are old as casinos know the older folks are their bread and butter.

I did not use to be old.

A 60 year old guy would be born in 1950. Said man Would graduate HS around 1967-8.

Play stuff like Stones, Doors, CCR ,Beatles and so much more for them ( and appeals to to a guy of 40).

Toss in some 70's stuff like Bob Seger, Eagles, Fleetwood mac, etc......you have the 45+ people and the 60's guys like it.

A bit of the 80's like maybe U2, Talking Heads.....most are cool with that.

No need for modern post 1990 stuff, the people that grew up on it can't gamble yet.

I'll sit playing BJ at a dump like Binions way to long because they play decent music. The kind of stuff you know wether you're 35 or 65.

Rap would be a disastor just as much as Lawrence Welk would be.

Even a 70 year old person, class of 1957-8 probably likes music from the 1960's while also happy with Elvis, and other 50's stuff ( which I can tolerate at 46).

My father ( born 1919) used to hang out a bar that played 60's and 70's stuff on the jukebox ( in the late 70's). I don't think he liked the Doors, stones, etc., he was there there to play poker in the backroom and drink. He's dead, I don't know if he liked any particular type of music... I'd guess Sinatra if I had to. I never saw him turn anything up.

My Mother ( 1920) liked some more modern stuff like Billy Joel, Jim Croce, Simon & Garfunkel other mellow 70's stuff.

I know plenty of people much younger than me that like 60's, 70's Classic Rock.

Stuff like The Eagles is acceptable to people like 30-70, but a bit boring. Classic Rock fits casinos, not too heavy on any one level like Skynyrd, Metallica, Queen, etc. Mix it up and everybody is happy.

That town fills up fast beginning Thursday night.

I was outside the PH valet Thurs night while my wife was getting band aids in lobby gift shop .

The crowd was rolling in getting out of vehicles in waves and the hotel registration line was the line from hell.

They really do not need to give away weekends as they have enough volume they have to deal with.

Still way too many rooms !

A Sean will get his comps for RFB easily....I'm sure he can fire over a 50-100k wire easily....but they must get wise that he isn't a chump ! He isn't there to blow 50k, but might lose that on a bad trip. He could win 250k on a good trip. He's a bad customer for the bottom line over time.

On-line reform is coming; the Feds will tax it to death: they have to do something to pay for the spending spree of the last 18 months. So be careful what you ask for. By the way, the bash at PH Friday night was great!!!
