sitting in class today, not a single person around me had a watch on....remember the old days when it was always fairly easy to steal a glance at someone's watch, this morning i was tempted to throw a spit wad at a girl 5 rows in front of me to get her attention to tell me what time it was.....

Agree -- While dealing poker at my job, I look at players watches to see the time/ how much time I have left on a table. So many times nowadays there is not 1 person wearing a watch.....

People rely on their cell phone now for time it seems...

I haven't worn or owned one in decades. I wear no jewelry whatsoever...no watches, rings, piercings, anklets, etc.

There is a clock everywhere. It's on your phone, computer, radio, cable box, oven, car radio, etc. I've never seen a classroom without a clock ! I can get the time ( if needed) from somebody that doesn't even speak English by just pointing at my wrist.

A watch is about as useful as a ring, it's just jewelry with almost no function. I'm not surprised almost no students bother with one. Sorry, BAS !

Soonerdawg, why weren't you wearing one? Would solve your problem.

A watch, a small pocket knife and a handkerchief. Those are three of the handiest things a man can carry with him. Unless I'm going somewhere where I can't bring one (the knife on a flight, for example), I have them on me anytime I'm dressed. Spend 20 bucks on a cheap Timex analog. It's worth it.

guess i'm gonna have to get a cheap one....i consider it a courtesy to the instructor to keep my cell out of sight (although i seem to be in the minority here) but that psychology class drives me nuts, 75 minutes of dendrites and axons and mylein sheaths and not a clock in sight

I think you can even get a pen with a clock in it.

I don't see the problem with pulling out a muted cellphone to check the time.

Class must suck if you're clock-watching ? You ain't goin' anywhere til it's over anyway !

No clocks on classroom walls anymore ?

I use to wear a watch everyday, now I just have my cellphone along. Plus, in the summer time, watches are uncomfortable to wear.

in my mondays, wedensdays and fridays, all the classes have a clock....neither of my tuesday/thursday classes do, and those are the long ones....psychology and algebra.....i prefer to leave my cell in my vehicle, don't want it going off in class (stupid thing seems to have a habit of turning itself on) and i'm afraid of losing it, have a bad habit of walking off without it.....first part goes by pretty quick, but at some point it's like "goddamn, 6 pages of notes, it's gotta be about time to get out of here...." that's when i start going nuts, it's like an unquenchable desire to know what fucking time it is

I wear my watch to bed. Only take it off for a shower. When travelling by plane
i'll wear two, one on each wrist, since having the right time can be crucial.

Since i seldom take my cell with me outside, my watch may be the only way
to find out what time it is, apart from asking someone.

Because the cell sits on my desk in my office, and when Im walking around I do not want to pull it out...And if I'm in a meeting with staff looking at a watch is easier than looking at a cell phone.

I used to carry a pocket knife to school as a kid...it was never even thought of as a potential weapon.
