We deserve better than having to have Colin Cowherd on TV for 3 hours a day. Sure the guy is opinionated on alot of issues, but you can tell he really doesnt follow sports that closely.

Cowherd doesnt deserve to be on tv no more than one hour.

What we need on ESPN is a more nuts and bolts type person who really follows sports. Would like to see scott van pelt or doug gottlieb get more airtime on ESPN.

What you think?

hes an idiot. i dont know how some of these guys keep thier jobs. Lou Holtz spits out his pick for Notre Dame to shock the world every goddam year. David Pollack said the other day that Justin Wilcox would be a factor in stopping VaTech. how can you have that job and not know the coaches?

but yeah Cowherd is one of the worst. hes all shock value media

Herd is fine if you understand what he is before listening. He is on their for entertainment purposes, not for sports knowledge. He is similar to Tony Kornheiser in that he doesn't only talk about sports and he clearly doesn't follow them as closely as others. If you like to laugh and be entertained, he is perfect. If you want nuts and bolts, hes definitely not your guy. Personally, I love Gottlieb and SVP, but Herd can definitely be entertaining so long as you take everything he says with a grain of salt.

Colon Coward is totally controlled by the entertainment and marketing divisions of ESPN. He is incapable of independent thought.

Most of the knowledgeable sports forum posters are miles more qualified than the clowns on tv.

With the possible exception of Bob Ley, nobody, but nobody is qualified at ESPN to do 3 hours of TV.

IMO all sports talk shows really suck. I listen to just about all of them as it is just something to do while I'm working. What gets me is most of these guys talk about their personal life, which to me is ridiculous. I thought that was one of the cardinal rules of broadcasting, 'don't talk about yourself'. It would be really cool, if you can learn something about sports on a show. I agree we need more 'nuts and bolts type'. I heard radio pays more than tv. You figure some station could get a knowledgeable sports person on. I guess they go more for 'entertainment' though.
