Max Hall is their back up. the kid that started for BYU last year...and a 5th rounder rookie from Fordham is their 3rd stringer. They may have the worst QB situation in the NFL.

Madden 11 roster update coming up.

Seriously though, I think this was a mistake.

TJ Houshmanzadeh cut too. why? didn't Seattle just give him a big time contract...didn't he just have back 2 back 100 reception seasons? didn't hear about him much last year though. injuries?

Funny you should mention JR. Did a youtube search on his highlight reel it's one of the shortest clips I have ever seen. LOL

They are going to be terrible this year.

You and others in this thread might be right, but there are a couple things that people dont realize:

1) Ken Whizenhunt is one hell of a coach. He took the CARDINALS to the Super Bowl. He should be inducted to the Hall of Fame based on that alone. :)

2) People have no idea how good this Max Hall kid is. People are questioning the move because he is an undrafted free agent rookie with no experience. Sure, its risky having him as your #2. But the fact of the matter is, Max Hall is better than Leinart right NOW. The kid has the "it" factor. If he has to play this season you will see.

And I almost forgot to add...

The NFC West is by far the worst division in football. 8 wins probably wins the division. Anyone that thinks SF is a lock when they have Alex Smith as the starter is just plain in denial.

you are right about 8 probably 9 wins gets this division but I seen the Derek Anderson act in Cleveland and Alex Smith is better then he is which might not be saying too much but its the 49ers division to lose IMO

I was rooting for Leinart to succeed but you're right, Coach Whiz seems to know what he's doing. Leinart was painted as a malcontent in the media. I don't know if it was justified but if Leinart was being a primadonna it's best that he be on another team. Besides, Anderson and Hall really showed some heart in the preseason.

I really hope they do well. They have the talent and the desire. I just hope the front line gives them enough time to do something. It looked to me like they were letting the defenders through when Leinart was in there. LOL!
