The one that comes to mind for me is Van Helsing.

LOVED THAT MOVIE! I think it easily could have gotten spun into a sequel.

It's from when I was a kid but... Jumanji. I thought it was a great movie, they left it with and ending where you thought they'd make another yet 15 years later no Jumanji 2.

unbreakable
Speaking with MTV's Josh Horowitz, Shyamalan revealed that his idea for Unbreakable 2 will now appear in an entirely different film -- the third feature in his Night Chronicles line. "I cannibalized the idea for the sequel to Unbreakable for one of the Night Chronicles. I fleshed it out more and more, and thought, 'This could be a standalone movie,'" he said. "I'll just say it: the third 'Night Chronicles' movie is what would have been the sequel [to Unbreakable]. So now I need to come up with a new idea."

The director admits that the Bruce Willis/Sam Jackson film is the one he gets asked about most often and that he loves it too: "Literally, that's the question I get asked the most anywhere around the world -- if I'm making the sequel to Unbreakable. I love that movie."

Total Recall
I agree unfortunately Hollywood and all the original ideas out there they have....SIGH...are ready to reboot this already.

TOTAL RECALL REMAKE IS OFFICIAL, LEN WISEMAN DIRECTING

We’ve known Sony was planning a Total Recall remake since last year, but you probably forgot about it instantly, hoping it was all a bad joke. (When I snap my fingers, you will wake up and we can discuss where the bad idea touched you). Today’s news is that Sony has announced they’ve found a director for the project, Len Wiseman, who’ll be working off a script by Kurt Wimmer, who recently wrote Law Abiding Citizen and Salt, but whose true claim to fame is having invented “gun kata.”

START THE REACTOR, COMING SOON!

Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, “Underworld” films) is in final negotiations to direct Columbia Pictures’ Total Recall, it was announced today by Doug Belgrad and Matt Tolmach, presidents of Columbia Pictures. The film will be a new, contemporized adaptation of Total Recall, which was based on the story, “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Kurt Wimmer is writing the screenplay. Neal H. Moritz will produce through his Original Film banner.

How about another ET or Goonies film. Those would be good
I got stories for a lot of these. You would think I was in the loop. LOL

In July 1982, during the film's first theatrical run, Spielberg and Mathison wrote a treatment for a sequel to be titled E.T. II: Nocturnal Fears. It would have seen Elliott and his friends kidnapped by evil aliens and follow their attempts to contact E.T. for help. Spielberg decided against pursuing the sequel, feeling it "would do nothing but rob the original of its virginity".[45]

Ok I just remembered one. At the time I wanted Roger Rabbit to have a sequel. They had it all planned out too but it never came to be.

The one thing about Total Recall is that it was based on a book by perhaps the greatest science fiction writer of our time, who is deceased. Mr. Phil K. Dick. Since his death, numerous movies have been made from his works :

Blade Runner (1982)
Based on "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

Screamers (1995)
Based on "Second Variety"

Total Recall (1990)
Based on "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale"

Confessions d'un Barjo (French, 1992)
Based on "Confessions of a Crap Artist"

Impostor (2001)
Based on "Impostor."

Minority Report (2002)
Based on "The Minority Report."

Paycheck (December 25, 2003)
Based on "Paycheck."

A Scanner Darkly (July 7, 2006)
Based on "A Scanner Darkly"

Next (April 27, 2007)
Based on "The Golden Man"

Films in Production

The Adjustment Bureau (coming 2010)
Based on "The Adjustment Team"

King of the Elves (coming 2012)
Based on "King of the Elves"

PDK has been my favorite author of all time since randomly reading one of his books on college break in 1986. He died during the production of Bladerunner and lived most of his life in obscurity with no wealth. There is no comparison among fellow writers. I'm afraid to break the news.. but any sequels to movies based on his work will most likely lack the brilliance of the original. It may be entertaining, but it's not going to have the same mind Fking affect.

Yeah. Just saw that now. I doubt it gets made. They were planning a sequel back in the early 90's but they kept waiting for CGI and by that time the movie would have been too expensive. Looks like now there is interest again.

I'm still waiting for Spielberg's Abraham Lincoln movie. Another one that'll never get made.
