People get bored easily plus they buy into this I have to go out and do things=overpaying for entertainment and food. I'm more of a stay at home person...safer and less expensive.

Prima donna, limo-liberal hollywood actors are demanding 20 to 30 million per movie, most of which are unwatchable garbage. And people complain about athletes being overpaid.....

$17.50 for a 3D Imax movie. Resident Evil, it was absolutely terrible. The only thing I can compare it to would be an hour and a half music video of the matrix on crack.

Why can't people watch a two hour movie without eating ?

I hate movie theatres (sp), haven't been in one for at least 5 years. For one thing the volume is always WAY TOO LOUD ! It's so damn loud I'd honestly consider wearing earplugs. I wouldn't want to go with free passes. I'd gladly never go again for the rest of my life. There is so much available on regular TV with On demand plus the stuff on the net. Fading movie theatres would be a great bet....not sure how to do that, though !

All entertainment is way overpriced. I heard a bit on the radio yesterday about "tribute" bands doing really well lately. Bob seger and the like are way too expensive, so the fake bands do really well now.

AAA baseball is a much better value than MLB in places like Boston. The Redsox are unaffordable for many people, so go see the Pawsox instead ! I can't see paying literally like $300++ to take a family of 4 to a ballgame....unless you make 6 figures.

Movies are not even enjoyable, so much better at home now that most people have 50" + TV's anyway....if you don't have one, save the money ( Like $800) for one buy not going out to the movies.

Cheap bastards. All of yews!!!

I remember when I first started paying for movies in 1989 it costs $3.50. We also went to the $2.00 double feature older releases theaters. Then when I got my own car the drive in was $5.00 (Used to stuff the bitches in the trunk). Of course the $10 and $12 movie passes today seem expensive because the movie going experience hasn't changed over the years, but the inflation seems about right. Remember the $2.99 premium meals at McDonalds? That shit is like $7.00 now and a Happy Meal is $4.00. Go to Wendy's and some of their Burger, Fries and Coke meals will cost you $10.00

I won't ever bitch about the movie prices though. Everything costs more as you get older but to the teenagers today $10 seems like a good deal for 2 hours of a safe time with their boyfriend/girlfriends.

If you really want to bitch and reflect about something. I remember in my weed smoking days you could get a half once of herb for $25-$30 and you would have a grand old time sharing the bag with your friends. With that bag we would roll joints, pack bowls, take hits from the bong and scrape the resins. Nowadays you get a little medicine bottle full for what $60-$80? How come chemical drug prices have always stayed the same but not weed?

I love the movie-experience.

There's nothing like it.

I stopped going for probably 5-6 yrs, and started back a couple of years ago, and go all of the time now.

You can't compare watching a good movie on the big screen to at home.

If I want to see a first run motion picture, I'll go at a matinee afternooon price of 7.50, I'll eat a nice lunch before I go, eliminating the six dollar popcorn, I'll arrive 5 minutes before the movie starts, as to avoid all the commercials that preceed the trailers, you know, the very same commercials I can see for free on my TV.

Total cost of date, a reasonable 15 dollars.
