Luke Hochevar (5-4, 5.11) will take the ball Monday, making his first start since coming off the disabled list Sept. 3.
Hochevar, who had been sidelined with a right elbow strain since early June, pitched three innings of relief against Minnesota on Tuesday, allowing three runs and five hits, including a home run.
The right-hander is 0-4 with an 11.37 ERA in four starts against the Athletics, but hasn't faced them this season.
Kansas City is 11-23 against teams from the AL West.

One article I read this morning said Oakland is like 5-1 in this ball park and has scored like 41 runs here in last X amount of games, has one of MLB top base stealing teams plus Kansas City tends to give up alot of errors in this series. On the other hand, KC bats were pretty warm yesterday and if they do shell the rookie, the over is the play with Oaklands capability to advance base runners on the opposite side IMHO. I cut the O/U 1 run to 7 1/2 and went over for a little juice but like my chances.
