Denver still hasn't withdrawn their offer of a contract extension, but Melo hasn't changed his stance or become more communicative. They could trade him before the season starts or wait until closer to the February trade deadline -- either way, they'll be looking to bring back "at least one top-flight young player ... along with salary cap relief and multiple future first-round picks."

Finally they get a clue and realize there's not sense in losing him and ending up with nothing in return as Cleveland did......

Any word yet or early speculation on who might be some of the teams showing interest?

That's asking for an awful lot. I think if anyone actually gives all that they will be making a big mistake. Carmelo ain't getting any younger and is pretty one-dimensional. Had better be a team ready to take a shot to win it all immediately.

They will never get that. Cap relief and a couple 1st rounders at most. no way they get a top flight youngster

Kevin Martin - G - Rockets

The Rockets discussions with the Nuggets about Carmelo Anthony have reportedly not involved Kevin Martin.
This runs contrary to an earlier report, but the fact remains that the Rockets are in hot pursuit of Carmelo. Apparently Houston would part with any one or two players plus draft picks. For now, the Nuggets are listening to all offers. Sep. 21 - 4:59 p.m. ET

Joakim Noah - F/C - Bulls

The Bulls have dropped out of the running for Carmelo Anthony because they refused to include Joakim Noah in a deal.
We like Noah and everything, but not giving him up as part of an Anthony deal is insane. Regardless, it shows just how strongly the Bulls believe in Noah. He's locked in to a major role there and will be a major fantasy asset as long as his plantar fasciitis doesn't act up. Sep. 21

Denver is not in a position of power here. Hind sight in life is always 20-20 vision.
But I would have been shopping him back in June at draft time a little more seriously.
