absolutely. its a shame he plays in a market like Seattle.

people don't understand what an accomplishment it really is to get 200 hits year in and year out....

Absolutely he's a Hall of Famer. I'd rank him right up in there in the group of best pure hitters ever to play major league baseball. He's Rod Carew with a longer run of peak years. An often overlooked outfielder, as well. The dude can play out there.

hell yes he is.

I have never been able to figure out how players that are HOFers are not all 1st ballot. You don't improve your stats the next year. I think it pretty stupid. If there is a question if you should be in than you should not be in.

Like when they say well this player has the mosr rbi of people not in the HOF. Well using that type of logic than everyone will get in the HOF in time.

so yes 1st ballot. Hell that should be the only time on the ballot.

I would have loved to have seen this guy playing baseball in October
every season instead of going to waste in Seattle the last several years!

I thought this was a joke!

Are you kidding me, you can argue he has been the best player in baseball for the past 10 years. Bonds was on the juice, not sure about Albert.

The only things Albert does better is HR and walk, but Ichiro can steal bases, has a cannon for an arm and can cover some serious ground in the outfield.

He is as much of a HOF as any player over the past 15 years. 262 hits a season. Everyone loves the overrated Derek Jeter, imagine if Ichiro had those types of players around him that Jeter has had and if he played in NYC, he would be considered the best player in the game. He is also 36 or 37. The guy has been unreal and he plays in 2nd best pitchers park in baseball (San Diego).

I agree. Vote 5 years after they are done. Either they get in or they don't. No need to have guys campaign and posthumus inductions.

I guess in the NFL, they thought Floyd Little and Dick Labeau had great 2009 seasons, that really pushed them over the top in 2010. I heard Little was just awesome at watching the games during 2009, really helped his stats and think that is why he got into Canton this year.

i said if he quit now .. he's only played 10 years and has 2200 hits . still a hall of famer ?

i think so too.. but thought the quitting now might throw a wrench into the conversation

Think Gayle Sayers.

Look at Ichiro's batting stats, defensive ability (crazy arm), speed. A top 5 talent over the past decade.

Albert/A Rod, Barriod, Ichiro and someone else (not in order)

I've said it before and I'll say it again as a Mariner Fan...with the exception of Albert's HR's, Ichiro is the finest player in the game today and it's been a treat watching this professional play the game. He's actually the best pure base hitter I've ever watched.

Rookie Year:
Stolen Base Title
Gold Glove
Hits leader
All Star
MVP

How's that for a first year?
