Strange thing was that later that night it was in the 70's.

Hey, I haven't bitched all summer long because I accept when it's hot in the desert. However, temps now are almost 15 degrees higher than normal. There's a lot of difference between 96 and 108.

at least in LA, the temps drop to the mid 60s at night, unlike Vegas. By the time you get here it will be cooler anyway.

i was dying out here in HB, had to get some time in the water..hottest day Ive ever had in OC, but still not as bad as a few times in the desert where I grew up (Lancaster/Palmdale)

When I lived in HB (twice) I lived in an apartment complex without AC. It would regularly get up to 80 degrees in my apartment in the summer. I suffered more due to heat than I have in Arizona with central air.
