Get an attorney. Don't seek legal advice on a forum dedicated to illegal sports gambling.

It sounds like maybe they have you confused with someone else
who had a court order to stay away from the bar. Or there's
something you forgot to tell us. After all, why would the cops
tackle a guy for no reason? It makes no sense.

This is not a forum dedicated to any illegal activity. What kind of BS is that?
There are many intelligent posters here and there is plenty of good advice available. I am an attorney but I practice business law. Of course hiring an attorney here is good advice. However, this may be the type of case that he can get dismissed once the prosecutor reviews the case.

always amazes me how people are like this a site full of degenerates, you wont get any info here. People must fail to realize those degenerates are also doctors, lawyers, accountants, mechanics, etc. Sure you might have to read through a thread to find the person or two who knows what they are talking about for a given subject, but its there.

I know it sounds like more like the story you are sticking too and not the actual account of what really happened. Sounds like you and your buddy got kicked out the bar and they called the cops. Maybe you didn't leave the parking lot of the bar quick enough and the cops were already called so they arrested you. Funny thing about police response time is it usually takes them 20 minutes to appear on the scene of a non-life threatening call. So you probably should have walked off the premises and called a cab to pick you up at a neighboring business or something.

Don't worry this is some very misdemeanor shit. You will never go to trial and be asked to plead to disturbing the peace and get off with a fine and a promise not get arrested for 6 months to a year. You won't even get probation. You might get time over your head (suspended sentence).

cstock.

thank yourself. asking for legal advice here is the best thing you've ever done.

first of all, don't waste money on a lawyer.

step two, find the arresting officers names, look up their addresses and phone numbers. Call their homes (or stop by) when they are at work and speak to their wives about your case. Ask the wife if they have children and what school do they go to, that's a good icebreaker.

step three, skip your first court date, this will show the judge that you think the charges were dropped and it also helps you prove that you thought you did nothing wrong.

step four, protect yourself. Start carrying a weapon at all times. Big Knife or a loaded gun would be even better. The law is on your side here, that bar owner has it out for you and you have the right to protect yourself.

Now that is some sound advice.:grandmais

Cstock, the only person on earth that will buy your "story" is your lawyer. You will probably get an ACD behave for 1 year as long as you have a clean record; and your good to go.

I would have started at a free legal advice forum instead of the offshore subforum of a sports betting forum but thats just me

If that fails, just ask yourself, "What would Hunter S. Thompson do?"

At a bar on a Friday night and all of a sudden some cops just happen to tackle you for no reason? I see this story on the show "Cops" all the time. Everyone is innocent.

Sounds like you need to pick better friends. The cops were probably after your friend that was starting fights. The question I have, is did they arrest your friend too? Trespassing means the owners called, fingered you and pressed charges, but probably just wanted you off the property, and to ruin your night. That kind of shit happens every night at bars. If you're lucky the charges will be dropped or plead down to disturbing the peace. I'm no Lawyer, but have been in these types of situations plenty of times as a young Marine.

Trespassing doesn't necessarily mean an owner called and fingered you nor press charges. You could be burglarizing a house and it's trespassing regardless of what the owner does.
