just posted these 2 plays in my office (my thread here)

TB (-1.25) game 1 of alds (lee/price) this was a TOP play....

Twins (+1.25) game 1 of alds (sabaitha/lirano) this was a One Unit play for me...

passing on game 1 of (phillies/reds)... my program picked the phillies but price was too much..

here was how my Power Rankings Program saw each of the first round matchups...

Philly Over Cincinatti: clearly the easiest choice to make of any matchup but i did not make a series wager, as the price of (-2.80) was way too high..

TB Over Texas: this selection was ranked second and in my opinion should be the only series wager made, if you were to make one but the price of (-1.75) was too much for me..

SF Over ATL: this should be a good series, if the braves can steal one at SF, they may pull the upset for Bobby...

Yanks Over MN: this should be another close one,,, key is twins holding serve at home...

just some rambling, as we wait for the playoffs to begin..

Mr.NYMets609, it has died in here, yet should pick up tomorrow! Baseball playoffs are much better than regular season football. The $$$ and lines are more just!! The Braves (homer) are the only dog I like in the beginning series. No wagers made yet, but my local has the Braves at +140 vs. the Giants. Good luck to you, sir!!!!! ATLSLIM

I loved your plays, and I hate to hear you say that.... I have a large play on the Giants for the series *gulp*

your opinion makes me very nervous now lol. I really liked it... I dont see how Lincecum or Cain lose at home, then they have Sanchez, Bumgarner or another home game for Lincecum to close it out. I just cant see them losing 3 of those games vs a very weak braves line up... what makes you like the braves atlslim?

I think the Giants have a great chance of winning the series as well because IMO the Braves are just shot and out of gas. the Prado injury destroyed them.

but as far as your theory goes....every one said the same thing last year or 2 years ago forget which one when cards had Carp and Wainwright and they got swept.

that is true. when i first read this, i said to myself "ya but how inconsistent was the cards hitting"

then i repeated it and realized "how inconsistent is the giants hitting" lol

regardless, i like this alot and i may put some on them to advance out of the NL at +355 or whatever... i have phillies to win NL pennant from the begining of the season so this would be a nice henge for some guarenteed $$$$

1st play of the MLB Playoffs will be....

Texas Rangers +120

this is the time of the year when Cliff Lee absolutely thrives and you can bet your ass it will be his best post season yet with him being a free agent this coming off season. The guy is absolutely unshakable as they come. he does not get raddled much and is always in great command of his pitches..hence the 185 strike outs to just 18 walks.

on the other hand we have David Price who is a stud in his own right but is also facing a bit of the unknown here. yes he has been in the post season before, closing out some big games (about as big as they get) but never has he had the task of trying to set his team to start off up 1-0 in a pivotal Game 1 series against one of the best pitchers in the game. With James Shields going in Game 2 (Rays afraid to have him go in Arlington because of just how bad he has been) and not knowing which Garza will show up.........the out come of Game 1 will dramatically swing this series, giving the Rangers a massive edge if they pull it out.

Price throws his fastball a whopping 74% of the time...2nd in the league only to Justin Masterson. Texas is one of the best fast ball hitting teams in the league and I look for this line up to touch him up for 3-4 runs.

IMO the Rays confidence is not where it needs to be right now....they struggled just to squeek out some wins against KC to back into the division crown. This team had big expectations coming into the year and mid season it looked like they were going to live up to all the hype.....but the way they have been playing ball the last few weeks I would not be surprised to see them get swept.

Not to mention, all the talk about what is going on with this team for the next remaining years really has an effect of why I like the Rangers for Game 1 and the Series........
