Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is day-to-day with bruised rib cartilage sustained in Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Washington Redskins, Eagles coach Andy Reid said Monday.

Vick bruised cartilage on the second and third ribs near the sternum, Reid said, while being hit at the end of a 23-yard run near the end of the first quarter. Sandwiched between Redskins defenders DeAngelo Hall and Kareem Moore, Vick came up limping after the tackle at Washington's 1-yard line.
"We'll see how he feels," Reid said. "This is one of those day-to-day, week-to-week things. … He's sore."

Kevin Kolb, Philadelphia's original starter that Vick replaced in the second half of the season opener following Kolb's concussion, came on to finish that drive with a field goal and led two other scoring possessions. He finished 22 of 35 for 201 yards, a touchdown and a game-ending interception.

Reid wouldn't say if Vick would be available for Sunday night's game at the San Francisco 49ers, later adding that that he would monitor his progress during the week before deciding on adding another quarterback.

"I'll meet with (general manager Howie) Roseman on that," Reid said. "We've got to see how he progresses, and we have a list together and will see how we progress in that direction. If we don't (have to), we don't."

Several other Eagles were injured as well. Running back LeSean McCoy suffered a rib fracture in the first half and was being tested on Monday, a day after finished the game with 64 rushing yards on 16 carries and 12 receptions for 110 yards.
Wide receiver Riley Cooper and cornerback Asante Samuel each suffered concussions in the game, which Reid described as mild. Both were undergoing standard examination protocols.
