Men, this line just jumped at me right away.

I had NY - 1 1/2 y-day and they obviously met it, and today I'm just not anticipating a good start from Pavano at all. He's been hammered his last two, and lost his last 4 vs the Yankees.

Pettite of course won't be Halladay, but I think even allowing 3 in 6 will give me a good shot a 2-4 run Yankee win.

I know the Twins "need" this game but that always means squat to me with pro teams. To each his, his own.

Opinions? thanks...

Pavano has been hit hard the L2 starts but he's 1-0 .... Pettite has been worse L2 with ERA of 11.00, 0-1, and not seeing the fifth inning either time. I don't think Pettite is in good form after being off 2 months w/groin injury.

FWIW Pavano's is 2-2 vs Yanks over last 10 years.

I think this is most favorable match-up for Twins and they even the series today.

I share the same thoughts, although I have not played it yet. I am leaning Twinkies though.

Simply not true:

DATE OPP W/L SCORE: 10/01/2010 TOR L 3-6 09/25/2010 DET L 10-11

Both no decisions...and was especially lucky in the Sep 25th start vs DET when he gave up 7 earned runs in 4 innings.

Fair point about Petitte though, recently. I usually don't ride the "he's a playoff player/pitcher" train, but I give him more credence for some reason.

Cool.

I only have two comments after stating I'm on the Yanks. Nobody comes close to Pettitte's record in the postseason and the Yanks have now beaten the Twinkies 8 straight in the playoffs, trailing in every game. GL to anyone betting against that, you'll need it.

You are correct he was 0-0 those L2 but in comparison Pettite's L2 were:

4 inn / 9H / 3R
3.1 inn / 10H / 7R

My point being is presently I believe Pettite is not in good form and I would rather back Pavano

Did you also check on Pavano being 2-2 L4 vs Yanks and not 0-4??
