Jeff Mattingly previews the second game of the American League Divisional Series between the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.

Texas survived a bases loaded jam in the first inning and cruised to a 5-1 series-opening win over the Rays at Tropicana Field. Starting pitcher Cliff Lee allowed just a single run over seven innings and the team is now focused on extending its series lead. "It's nice to win Game 1, but we haven't won anything yet," third baseman Michael Young said. "We know that our goal is." It was just the second postseason win in the Washington/Texas franchise history, snapping a nine-game losing streak. A pair of home runs by Nelson Cruz and Bengie Molina led the offensive production against All-Star left-hander David Price. The Rangers have now won six straight against AL East opponents and are 5-0 as a road underdog.
