Okay looking at the commercials for this game is tempting me to buy it.

I don't nearly have the time these days to put into video games as I did in my high school and college years. I guess back then we didn't have the internet, DVR, DVD's, and a full time work schedule to occupy our time like we have today so you can literally throw on a video game and kill 4-5 hours a night.

This Medal of Honor game looks like a lot of fun but I don't want to drop $50 just to have the game take up shelf space.

Think about it like this. If you stay in and don't go to the bar 2 times bc you bought this game.....it pretty much paid itself off.

This and other such games obscenely trivialize the reality of our government sending so many of our young fellow Americans to die and/or be permanently crippled on behalf of one or more fucked up, chaotic foreign regimes.

Sit in your living room and "kill" imaginary bad guys with your imaginary firepower. And when you or your buddies get yourhead or other body parts blownoff - no problem. Just hit Game Restart and everyone's well again.

Unfortunately above poster the military controls about 40% of the market on these games so soldiers are playing them too. Go do a little research.

Very true. Believe it. Lots of soldiers joined because they want to be on infantry just like in the game. Have seen this on both G4 and the Military channels.

40% figure might be a bit high though

It's pretty accurate -+ 5% the very reason Medal of Honor changed the name of the insurgents from Taliban in the game was because it was going to be banned from military bases.

Eh, who cares what's behind it? It's a video game. Blaze up and kill 3-4 hours after class or work.

Just ordered it from Amazon and applied my $20 game credit and will get another $20 game credit for my purchase for a future game. May take GTC08's advice and get Gran Turismo 5 in a month.

I've been saying this for years now - partly to deflect the possibility of me being a loser and partly because it is true. I paid over $1,000 for my PS3 (and games) at launch and the money wasn't out of hand yet and I was thinking, "What the fuck is wrong with me?"

I didn't leave the house for about a month.
