Going for the hedge on Atl/SF series

I got an extremely lucky break yesterday and am set up well for a hedge. I currently hold:

Giants for the series 1163/750

Giants exact outcome 3-1 100/320

I can get the Braves on a series price at +320 and on the game tonight at -138

I'm thinking of putting $200 on series (200/640) and $100 on game. If the Braves win tonight it will cancel out the $100 I wagered on the exact outcome, and then I'll be going into tomorrow night to either win $550 or lose $523 (of course I'll probably put a little more on the Braves tomorrow to protect that side).

Anybody have any suggestions on any other way to play this (in regards to exotic wagers). I'm not a greedy SOB so don't come in here and say "let it ride". I'm simply looking to make the most I can at this point (with reduced risk), since I'm in a good spot. I figure Atl will be +155 or more tomorrow.

i would put the 100 on the Braves tonight for sure. to even out the exact outcome 3-1 bet. I wouldnt bother trying to hedge the series bet. The giants will not lose both games. if they lose tonight which i think they will, Lincecum will win them game 5 no problem. leave the series bet but play the braves tonight.

hope this helps!

I appreciate the reply, but not hedging at all on the series wager eliminates any advantage I have (especially if you are right and the Braves win tonight). The original wager was at -155. If Wednesday's game is at -155 (don't know that to be the case...just a hunch), I'm no better off than someone just betting on the game that day. Having almost $1200 on a single baseball is a bit much since a standard game wager for me would be $100. The +320 is there for the taking right now.

I understand what your saying but it sounds like you have lost all confidence in the Giants winning the series. Is this the case? I have a big play on the Giants series and I am more than confident that they win game 5 IF they lost tonight. I wouldnt worry about the series if i were you, i would wait until wedneday and count that $750!

Just figured it out (thanks again RR...just because you changed my perspective on my thinking).

The best play is actually the series (and my previous reply to you got me thinking this way...but your comments triggered it). I just placed a wager for $350 on the Braves to win the series. If they somehow pull it out, I will be out a whopping $40. Like you though, I tend to think the Giants will get it done (but not interested in having near $1200 on the game to prove my point). So...if the Giants win tonight, I win a little over $700. If they don't get it done tonight but win on Wednesday, I still win $400 (and the risk is negated).
