The Buccaneers got some national attention from veteran NFL writer Peter King at Sports Illustrated. King wrote about Tampa Bay in his Monday Morning Quarterback column after the Bucs pulled off a come from behind 24-21 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tampa being 3-1 is even more surprising than Kansas City being 3-1. The Bucs went young everywhere on the roster, and the quick development at quarterback, receiver, the defensive line and secondary is -- in a word -- stunning.
"Maybe it's surprising to everyone else,'' said Spurlock, "but not to us. We think we should be 4-0.''
New Orleans visits the Pirate Ship on Sunday. All of a sudden, the Saints have a dangerous game to try to right their own ship.
The Fine Fifteen

14. Tampa Bay (3-1). Never thought Saints-Bucs in Week 6 would be as close as it is to a pick-'em affair. Crazy league.

MVP Watch

5. Josh Freeman, QB, Tampa Bay. Forget the stats. Watch the Bucs. They're a gallant team, and Freeman makes more mistakes than he should. But he's the on-field keystone to an intriguing team that's not going away.

"We think we should be 4-0."

Did you sleep through the beatdown against the Steelers?

Look I'm a Tampa Bay fan, and they are doing better then I thought they would when the year started but lets calm down. Yeah Tampa is 3-1 but the 3 wins came against Carolina (0-5), Cleveland (1-4), and Cincy (2-3). For a combined record of 3-12. So lets not light the fireworks off just yet. Not to mention the one good team we played blew the doors off us with a 4th string qb. Fact is Tampa has one of the easier schedules in the NFL so they win 8 games but we are still a long way from one of the better teams in the league.

bucs are surprising so far, but i'm not getting too excited just yet....we have an easy schedule, and it will get harder.....however, i am glad to see the quick growth of young players, which could lead to good teams in the next year or 2, a little sooner than expected....Freeman has been a nice surprise

Hello, Tampa, Yeah its the Earth calling. Welcome back. Now take your place as 3rd in the NFC South. Like I said this team could maybe win 8 games just because their schedule is so easy, but Tampa is a long way from being a good football team.
