Lets hear some basic stuff.

1-2NL Hold'em

What's an average bet if you're first in action. Is it 3,4,5,6 times the big blind? Is it dependent on the other players at the table?

normally i would do 3 to 5x, but if there's a lot of fish at the table who can't stand to miss a flop, i'd probably go 6 or 7x....dependent on the hand and position as well....hand like A/K, if i miss the flop, i get away from it pretty easy, continuation betting does no good at a table full of soonerdawgs

i play in a 5/5 bring in ten game once a week and the average raise is 15x .............. usually it goes something like this......... raise to 75, call, call, call, call, call................ one c bet......... then an all in, then call.......... and something like 3 6 s, takes it down for like 3k.........

and this happens for like 12 hours str8

all depends on your hand... if your UTG and you have AK or 1010 or something decent ... make it a Yo 11 raise to see where you at to try to take it down then

YOOOOOO eleven just a crap term that the dealer uses to announce a raise to 11... have heard it many times even in vegas

Played in Vegas many times, played in Iowa, Played in Detroit, played in Cali and have never never heard this phrase. I would look at the dealer like he's from Mars.

here you go TRS found it for you

Yoleven
11, in respect to the size of a bet. Probably comes from craps dealers who pronounce the word clearly, loudly, and distinctly to distinguish amid all the casino noise from the similar sounding seven. Often they drag it out to eeyoleven, and this is sometimes shortened to eeyo. Also, yo.

Yo bet in craps is: you betting the next roll of the dice is an eleven, if it is not an eleven you lose your money. If it is an eleven you win 25x your money. I make a 1 yo bet every now and then to try to hit it for a $25 chip. Was playing craps at a table in Vegas when the guy next to me yells $25 yo and throws a $25 chip out and dam if he didn't hit that bitch! 25 x 25

LOL well maybe 11 is also not a very common raise. I am trying to think the last time I raises it to 11 and I don't think I ever have. Plus I only play poker. I have no clue on how to play craps.

take what down? $3 in blinds?

For those who have never heard Yo 11, then you obviously haven't played craps.

i recently stayed at the wynn and received the poker rate. they used to have solid
40-80 limit game there, but i found out that doesn't get spread very much nowadays.
the highest limit was 4-8. needing many hours to get my poker rate, i ended up playing
no limit. normally i'd play the 5-10, but there never appeared to be any real live ones
(this was midweek) so i played lower. just so you understand, i really don't like no limit,
it's not my strongest game and i really prefer limit, especially short-handed limit.
so i played the 2-5 and 1-3 no limit (i'm pretty sure those were the blinds) for about
10 hours to fulfill my 2 day poker rate. the games were incredibly simple. rarely
did i not know exactly where i stood in the hand. people were calling raises on
hands that should be mucked even if there was no raise and calling large river bets
with cards that had no chance. there were a few players that tried to play good, but
if you were paying attention you knew what they had and never had to pay them off
or could make them pay you off when they were drawing slim or dead. i've never played
that low, but my impressions are that if you can't beat low no limit holdem stakes then
you really are a very weak player.
