I take my foot off the gas pedal. Eventually, the tailgater passes ya. Then I put my brights on and tailgate him for a bit. See how he likes it.

Turn your headlights on and off occasionally if daytime....they look like brakelights.

I do too. But occasionally you get someone slow down even more. If that's the case I put on my brakes. Inevitably I get them to pass and they honk their horn.

i hate tailgaiters, one of my biggest pet peeves.

agreed... if i am doing the speed limit or a little over and some asshole is on my bumper , i pump the brakes , slow down , speed up , jam the brakes.. fuck with them until we split up.

Slamming your brakes just causes problems, even if your not at fault you still have to deal with all the bullshit involved with an accident (police, insurance, etc) I think the best thing to do when someone is tailgating you is slow down to like 10mph below the speed limit. People get really pissed, especially if they are in a rush.

I've been known to tailgate in my day. Normally though it is if the driver in front of me is going 5-10 less than the speed limit, with no one in front of them, and I can't pass.

What does drive me crazy though is going 75-80 on the highway and someone being right on my bumper.

Most people I know do this, but I usually just get over in the right lane and let this pass like I expect others to do.

Now if I'm in the right hand lane and they are doing it instead of getting over in the left hand to go around me, well..........Then it's on! @)

tailgating is probably the biggest cause of accidents. Although I drive very fast, I never tailgate.

if somebody is tailgating me, I'll try to let them pass if I can. If I can't, like when there are cars in front of me I can't pass, I'll give him a brake tap and / or maybe give him a you're an idiot hand sign.

I stop at the first GREEN light i come to. Wait for it to turn yellow and then go. Douche behind me then has to either run the light or stay stopped at the red light.
