Strictly talking from when he started playing and only counting every day players .

No pitchers...

just looking at numbers and throwing rings ( because any of these guys would have won the same amount on the yanks ) , i'd say a case could be made for top 5 with :

arod
pujols
manny
ichiro

honorable mention to:
vlad guerrero
chipper jones
gary sheffield

I would rank him as #1 in the category of grounding into double plays. If he wasn't leadoff, the #'s would've been way higher.

You guys are funny. Jeter isn't even close to being a top 5 player over the last 15 years. If you're ONLY talking shortstops OK...but total players overall you are just crazy.

What's more important is going forward.

The NYY will grossly overpay for him next season. He isn't great anymore. Dump him and Posada....and Burnett ( if there was a way).

NOBODY HERE MENTIONS NAMES --- 15 years is along time in bases.... Probably no one has more hits last 15 --Pretty consistant as well... Lock HOF er if he never plays again.. that being said

It's the 15 year stipulation and every day that works for him ..
