Should I wait for Black Friday? Should I wait for a normal sale? Should I ask for a discount for buying a full set of stuff?

With shipping, online is pretty much out of the question (especially in Hawaii). If I tried for black friday, can I even finish my whole list that day?

Items I need:
- Stovetop/Oven
- Dishwasher
- Refrigerator/freezer (french door style)
- Washer (full size front load stackable)
- Dryer (full size front load stackable)
- Television (Looking for 50"+ plasma or led, if 42"s are $300 like Dante said, I might pick up one of those in addition to the larger one)

Also tips on brands to consider, places to avoid, etc.

TIA

Here is what u neeed to know. There are only 3 american brands. whirlpool, ge and electrolux. These 3 sell every brand there is with an american name and few asian pieces as well.

2nd there is no such thing as a Kenmore.......Kenmore is 1 of these 3 brands are asian junk with the Kenmore name on it.buy 6 kenmore appliances u may need 6 different pppl to work on them...

Electrolux makes 15 or so brands including, frigidaire, westinghouse, and more....ck their website and write down all the brands they sell....THEN DONT GO NEAR ANY OF THEM!!!!!! They are junk of the highest order.

Next is GE...They are junk and since they have no govt regulation can actually sell diswashers that dont wash and refrigerators that dont refrigerate
........Their stoves and ovens however do retain some good qualities and if u find 1 like id buy it, keeping in mind parts are high as giraffee pussy....

Next is Whirpool....they own maytag, kitchenaid, roper and others......w/p and maytag are ok, kitchenaid is a whirpool with 1 more coat ofpaint and 1/3rd higher price..roper is the chinese made version of the whirpool...ie cheap as shit...

Buy everything Whirpool...Maytag if thats the only model that u like...

Front loading wasers and dryers are scam pieces of shit......DO NOT get hooked into buying some samsung or panasonic junk...
If u insist buy the cheapest set u can find, keep ur old set for when its broke and the day after the warranty runs out haul it to the road....

Another thing......appliances today rarely have over a 90 day warranty......even on a $2500 refrigerator. you need extended service contracts but DO NOT buy THIRD PARTY contracts.....If it is not a FACTORY (best buy is not a factory) authorized dealer contract roll it up and throw it in the garbage.....

You cannot buy appliances that actually work anymore.

I have the the following all under 5 years old.

refrigerator ( about 2 years old). This was exchanged 3 times before Sears could get one in here that worked for more than a week. I just paid about $300 to fix it a few months ago.

Dishwasher went 3 times as well. Started with a $1500 Fisher-paykel, had to replace it a month later with the same thing...it died, store gave me a different brand.

same shit with a washing machine.

stove doesn't work good. Oven doesn't get enough. It takes 10 hours instead of 4 to cook a turkey. Hasn't been used much at all.

My 20 year old dryer just died, put in a new $225 Roper, hope it lasts until I sell the place.

I have commercial freezer that must be 40 years old, never a problem with it.

The best appliances are the 15 year old ones for free on C/L when somebody remodels.

Keep your old ones....they at least work ?

here is what I Did... go on ebay and get a 10% off coupon for LOWES / Home depot.... A BIG HELP... considering you are buying 5 items at one time--WOULD SAVE A FEW HUNDRED BUCKS
http://cgi.ebay.com/1-Home-Depot-Re...0?pt=US_Gift_Certificates&hash=item2eb0974cba
(I USED THE 1 YEAR 0% FINANCING, IF THEY OFFER IT MIGHT AS WELL USE IT- IT;S NOT GONNA BE CHEAPER IF YOU DON'T).

7 years later I had to replace the washer and got an almost new front loader (900 new) for $100 -CHEAPER THAN CALLING A GUY TO THE HUT.

Samsung or Panasonic for the TV.

Honestly, if you want to bust these out on Black Friday, get them all at Sears. You'll get ridiculous deals for bundling everything together on the sale day. God, I hated working there.

You should consider US Appliance online. I bought a nice platinum fridge there last year. Shipping was free no tax and the price was just as good as the best sale prices the local stores had to offer. Your TV you could buy at Amazon. I would recommend buying it now though because during Black Friday the flat screens get sold out real early and end up getting sold out or backordered until March.

Pretty much the only real doorbuster deals on flat screen tv's are on previous years models and it is not top of the line. TV purchases these days is pretty much one of the worst investments we can make because the technology is so far ahead of the demand the second you buy a tv a newer, clearer, brighter, larger, better one comes out within 6 months.

I would go to Lowes or Home Depot and ask them for at least a 10% discount. I get that there buying one item. You should get at least 15% off.

Screw the big box stores. That is why our country is in the shape it is in. I owe an appliance store. We are part of the largest buying group in the country, so we can compete with ANYONE'S prices. Through the buying group we also have financing available. Deal with the local guy. What happens when you go to the big box guy when you have a problem with your appliance, just to find out the guy that helped you no longer works there. I just had a guy that bought a microwave at lowe's that went out of warranty by six days. If he would have bought it here, I could have got him warranty service, but screw him for going there.
