Man dies after being hit in head by golf ball

Authorities say a man who was hit in the head with a golf ball at a Southern California country club has died.

The San Bernardino County coroner's office said on its website Sunday that 69-year-old Hiroshi Tango died at a hospital Saturday.

On Oct. 7, Tango was playing golf at Los Serranos Country Club in Chino when he was hit in the head by a ball.
The coroner says he complained of head and neck pain after he was hit and he was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he "succumbed to his injuries" on Saturday, nine days after he was struck by the stray ball.

Sad stuff...I had a caddie once get hit in the head fore cadding (lost the ball in the sun)...Took him to the hospital, they released him and he had convulsions that night, the caddie has never been the same, cost the Club big in an insurance claim.

I work at Glen Mills Schools and we built one of the best golf courses on the east coast. Unfortunately, I don't golf. But anywho, the other day I step out of the classroom to get on my cell phone(better signal) and a golf ball goes whizzing by my head. I heard the wizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and felt the wind.....boy was that close..... Funny thing, it is a par 3 and I'm about 20yds from tee and 40yds to the left...unreal.

Oh man!! I used to play that course every Sunday around 30 years ago. Only time I ever hit anyone with a shot was there. My tee shot hit some golfer but luckily on the fleshy part of his arm above the elbow. Apologized profusely and bought him beers in the clubhouse afterward. Only a few feet from the same thing happening. Tragedy.
