i might bet against the rangers during the grind of the regular season, but no way i'd put anything worth while against the sooners or rangers here in the playoffs.....maybe if i was getting +30 or something......against mizzou this weekend for instance, no way i'd bet against them at +3.....just don't see how a person can do it....maybe 20 bucks that i'd turn around and blow on video poker, but that's it....

say if i put $200 against OU....$200 for me is a pretty good bet....i'd go fucking nuts.....see a lot of people in the forums saying things like "i love team x but i'm betting the house against them this weekend"....just don't see how they do it with a close spread

i do it all the time, espically nice when my team is favored, so i can root for them to win but not cover. I mostly do it against the buckeyes in big games, since they always seem to come up short. never any huge bets, maybe $50 to 100 against them. If the lose, atleast i make a few dollars and if they win say a big bowl game or advance to title game bc of the win, then worth the 50-100 to see it

I have no team in any sport except the team I'm on that night. An attitude perhaps acquired with age in this business.

i do a decent amount of the time but when your teams are the cubs and bulls, bears its pretty nice to know a good spot to bet against at worst they prove you wrong and win but i never bet above an average bet no matter how much i like the game.
bulls especially awful on the road usually and bears i seem to know the trap games

besides that i root for where my moneys on

I see you and I share the same team. One of my bigger bets was in the MNC vs LSU. My team consist of Franklin, Grant, Jackson, Hamilton, Lincoln, Washington.

As much as I love OSU, i love my money more and I bet with head and not my heart.

I don't have much respect for gamblers who don't bet against their team.

bet against my bullies 70% of time I have theminvolved in bets. had florida last saturday -7 (got with lines came out) and if I had knew state would only score 10 would have had a huge huge play on florida as had them scoring in mid 30's. thank goodness it was only a big play. what a crazy year in sce this year as vandy beats ole miss at home and gets outscore by georgia 43-0 and outgained by over 400 yards. don't have a clue this week as am still in shock from last weeks games.

I may live near Boston, but I'm actually a huge New York fan. Some of my biggest paydays have come in betting against the Yankees. I bet against my teams all the time.

In the right situation definitely. Had $300 on the Pats ML this past weekend.

Weird part is my good buddy bets against the Ravens every game. He's like if they win I'm happy if they lose I'm happy, lol.

You can't think like that. Gambler & Fan are two Different things.
Never ! bet with your Heart, you will be a loser.

If I think my team has no shot at winning a Game, I have no problem betting against them. If I'm on the edge, I stay away from the game.

Huge Yankee fan, however got Rangers in the series, because they struggle against tough lefties, (and other reasons) made nice coin yesterday fading AJ and cashed with Lee as well.

Used to be hard to fade my teams, but I loved the Torre Yankees to no end, I dislike Girardi for a lot of reasons, so it's easier.

If you wager for a living, you can't have a "team." In 1971, I sat through the Game of the Century(Neb-OU), and was one of the very few in the stands that was thrilled when Jeff Kinney scored late to beat my beloved Sooners(35-31). That game(Thanksgiving) put me back in action for the weekend.

I rarely bet against a hawaii team if they are having a decent season. (I used to)

If i dont want to bet on them i just pass. Cheering for my team is one of the few ways to be interested in a game with no bet on it.

The kiss of Death for the fan that wagers on or against thier team. Bet others or like another poster stated be a Fan of None and on the wager only. But I wish good fortune for those that do....

sometimes, if we as bettors are able to look at our teams realistically (a huge stretch with most), we knew exactly when they are vulnerable. in the nfl, i hit pretty well on steelers games over the season (going against them if the situation calls for it).
