I'm sure most on here do not take out losses or bad weeks on family.. but have you ever let it spill into your daily routine at home?:smoking:

well I mean it in the sense where you take it out on your wife like yell at her or the kids for no other reason other then you lost a bet...

I don't yell at the kids or take it out on anyone. Thats just ignorant. Never broken items either as i said in this thread, but im sure people do. It's not their fault and you would have to be a total asshole to do it. BUT i have found myself in a bad mood after a huge loss where i am very short with those around me. Probably something i should work on, but it only last that day. Im usually over that part when i wake up the next morning.

I've definitely gotten cranky over a loss, but it doesn't last long. I've learned to get over it fairly quickly. I used to act a lot grumpier when I didn't gamble and my home team lost - that's when my wife really would notice how crabby I was acting. I cover up much better now.

Im sure everyone has been there, however i would find a new home if my wife tried to tell me what i could or couldn't do. it did cost me a marriage but it wasn't meant to last anyway.I have customer's that have to hide in the closet or go to the store to make their play's. That to me is way over the top. if you work like hell and are paying the bill's no wife is going to tell me what i can or can't do.

i'm much better at handling the losses now-days.....but in my younger days when I lose, everyone loses!

I dont hide putting in bets with my wife (i hide amounts), but when I'm with any other family I have to hide (in the car or outside or bathroom) to put them in.....although i'm not fooling everyone when they see me checking scores on my phone.

but it works both ways....when i'm up big i'm a treat to be around....generous with money, doing fun stuff, wiping my ass with $100 bills, you name it

I find the best thing to do after a tough loss/bad beat is to go out to the garage and punch the boxing dummy in the face a few times along with a couple of shots to his gut.

Nobody gets hurt, except the dummy, and you feel just a little bit better about that bullshit loss you suffered earlier.

i don't wanna jinx it but this is probably the best chance i will have to hit the bash since the last time I was there....

marriage out of the way
house purchase out of the way
(hopefully renovations will be done by then)
hawaii beating boise on their quest for FCS title out of the way

just remember not to ditch me like how you guys ditch FW

family doesn't live too far away from me, and they hate the fact that i am betting so every phone call somehow gets the concerned questions if im wasting the paycheck away. I am smarter than that, but i can tell they will always doubt whatever i tell them.

The girlfriend doesn't mind because she sees how i dont treat it as a vice you would see in vegas or ac, but more of a math problem trying to find the solution. She still gets pissy though if I wake up at 5 am which I have been doing to watch a tennis wager in asia.

most definitely...most of the people around me know the deal and cut me some privacy. I try to exercise to get over it quicker....which leads me to a funny story...I was riding my bike to work today just because, so as I pull into the golf course I see one of the older local bookmakers (who I never played with) on the putting green, he yells at me "keep betting the jags and you might be selling that ride too!" I just laughed my ass off.
