What do you guys think of him? To me he comes of as a pompus, holyer than thou radio hack. He makes wide sweeping general arguements to make a point. I used to dig him when he was starting out but lately he sounds like a no it all.

Trey Wingo and Mark Schlereth visited last week and shredded him apart regarding football debates.

Some solid points, but often makes statements from his own mind as if they were in the ten commandments.

Thank you 2Plays. You articulated exactly what i was trying to say. He speaks as if he knows something no one else knows and that everyone else has it wrong.

A perfect example was from this morning. He debated a caller telling his audience that they were all drinking the Wade Phillips kool aid and that since the beginning he was the "I told you so" guy. Then he tried touting Parcells and how he knew he was the best coach and no one else. When the caller asked why, all he could come back with was, "2 Superbowls".

I agree. I think that's one of the most annoying traits a person can have. I know a guy who is the same way. He makes statements as if they were fact, but has little or no facts to back up the statement.

Cowherd is the same way. I dislike him so much that I actually listen to the B Team on Mad Dog Radio instead of him.

He's a little like Skip Bayless. They both take the contrarian view just to have something different to say. Then he can argue with with his callers and drive his point into the ground.

Know it all yes but he's also smart. He knows that if people love or hate him, they still listen and he has strong opinions (right or wrong) but knows having one is the most important part.

I actually enjoy listening to him but like it when he talks about non-sports the most. My other option is Jim Rome and he hasn't been interesting in 5 years.

Cowherd, intelligent and well informed, may be most insecure dude on radio. His mom either didn`t give him the needed attention as a kid or it is his hugh ears. And how would you like to be named Cowherd?

A host has to give the semblance of civility to his callers, his failure to do so on a constant basis is his worst trait.

The professional callers, ie team correspondents from around the country, he treats with great respect, thanking them and taking the time to wait for their reply's to his thanking them lol.

Joe Blow, on the other hand, is barely acknowledged, something like , ''yeah, what do you want you moron, my screener has put on that you disagree with me, go ahead, good you're finished, get off my phone.'' Needless to say, no thank you is coming Joe's way. To compare, even as polarizing a figure as Rush Limbaugh goes out of his way to be civil and courteous to everyone.

But i still tune in when i can lol.

Would love to hear this...

Probably 80% of the posters here would make more intriguing radio hosts.

You had it right, he's a total hack. He is a perfect fit for Sportsnation, and that's not a good thing.

You hit it on the head Jimmy. Last week I remember him reading an email about a Lebron/Miami Heat rant. (For the record Cowherd is pro Lebron on this topic.) Cowherd's weak comeback was, "Well you know what Mr. Joe Blow? That's why your sending an email, and I'm the one with a radio show"

??:ohno:??:think2:??

I mean really. That's his best comeback? I wanted to call so bad but I figured he'd probably hang up on me once he realzes I had a valid opinion. The only reason I listen is because I channel surf when the local guys or the news is on commercial break.

Cowherd has his tongue so far up Brett Favre's ass it makes me sick. He is a fuckin know it all with a nice engaging sports voice so his listeners think he is speaking gospel.

The way he talks about Favre and Brady you would think he'd sniff their jocks if given the chance.
